The Blue Hole is a submarine sinkhole in a fringing reef a few kilometres north of Dahab on Egypt's Sinai coast, plunging past 100 metres deep. Its shallow rim offers accessible recreational diving and snorkeling, while a submerged passage called the Arch, its ceiling around 55 metres down, has drawn technical divers and is notorious for numerous diving fatalities.
