The Great Sphinx of Giza is a limestone statue of a reclining lion with a human head, carved from bedrock on the Giza plateau and generally attributed to the Fourth Dynasty pharaoh Khafre, around the 26th century BCE. It measures about 73 meters long and 20 meters high, making it one of the largest monolithic statues in the world.
